Classic, fuzzy, and bold. Bring a vintage varsity look to your brand with thick, 3D patches that add depth and a premium feel. Perfect for sweatshirts and jackets, chenille creates a soft, unique texture that stands out.

Chenille is all about that classic "letterman jacket" aesthetic. Using a unique vaulted yarn technique, these patches create a soft, carpet-like texture that adds significant height and dimension to your design. While they are best suited for simpler shapes and bold letters, we often pair them with traditional embroidery to add fine details or sharp outlines. If you are looking for a patch that feels substantial, premium, and intentionally retro, nothing beats the tactile appeal of chenille.
Chenille is famous for its "fuzzy" look and feel. Because it uses vaulted yarn, it sits much higher than a standard patch, giving your gear a thick, three-dimensional look that’s perfect for big logos and varsity letters.
If you want your brand to feel established or retro, chenille is the way to go. It instantly brings to mind classic school jackets and high-end sportswear, adding a sense of quality and nostalgia to any hoodie or bag.

Chenille patches are made using a "vaulted" yarn technique. We loop soft, fuzzy acrylic or wool yarn through a felt backing, creating a raised, carpet-like texture that is much thicker than standard embroidery.
Chenille is best for bold shapes and large lettering. Because the yarn is thick, fine details can get lost. To get around this, we often combine chenille with traditional embroidery for the smaller details while keeping the main body fuzzy.
Since these patches are thick and substantial, they look best on heavier fabrics. They are the classic choice for varsity jackets, hoodies, sweatshirts, and heavy tote bags. They might be too heavy for thin t-shirts or performance wear.
To keep the yarn looking fluffy and prevent matting, we recommend turning the garment inside out and washing it on a cold, gentle cycle. Air drying is best, but if you use a dryer, keep it on the lowest heat setting.
Yes, but because chenille patches are thicker and heavier than most, we highly recommend adding a few "tack stitches" around the edges after ironing. This ensures the patch stays securely attached through long-term wear.
