Unlike embroidered or woven patches that use thread, heat transfer patches are created using high-quality printing on a durable substrate. This allows for much higher detail and a flatter, more modern profile on your gear.
Yes. This is the primary reason to choose heat transfer. Since it is a printing process, we can replicate smooth color transitions, photographic elements, and complex shading that would be impossible to achieve with individual thread colors.
While they are thinner, they are built to last. They are made from rugged materials that are resistant to fading and cracking. When applied correctly with a heat press, the bond is permanent and can withstand dozens of industrial wash cycles.
For the best results and a permanent bond, we highly recommend using a professional heat press. While a home iron can work in some cases, a press ensures the even temperature and pressure needed to "lock" the patch into the fabric fibers.
They are incredibly versatile. Because they are lightweight and flexible, they work perfectly on performance fabrics, spandex, and thin polyester where a heavy embroidered patch might pull or sag the material.
