Frequently Asked Questions
About Artworks

Will my logo/design work as an enamel pin?

Absolutely. Most logos and designs can be turned into great looking pins. When you send in your artwork, our design team will review and put it into a production ready proof. If anything needs to be adjusted (for example simplifying small details, or modifying gradients), we’ll make those recommendations and provide a free digital proof before anything goes into production.

What file formats do you accept?

We’ll take almost any file format, including a napkin sketch! If you have a vector file (.ai, .eps or .svg) that’s ideal because it gives us the highest clarity. If all you have is a photo or screenshot that’s fine too. Our design team will clean it up and prepare it for production.

If I send in a physical pin, can you match it?

Yes. If there are unique elements that you’d like duplicated, our team will recreate the design, color, size and overall look as closely as possible. Prior to production you’ll be able to review a digital proof to confirm everything looks right.

Please note, slight variations are normal in production. We’ll do our very best to match what you have, and usually can get really close to your original.

Is it possible to cut out a portion of my design?

Yes. Cutouts work great for shapes inside letters, really unique outlines, or design elements that need see through effects.

Some cutouts may require an additional setup cost to ensure clean edges, but we’ll review your artwork and let you know what is possible before production. If any adjustments are needed our design team will handle those and send them to you for approval before production.

What colors can I use?

We use the Pantone Solid Coated color system, which is industry standard for enamel products. If you already know your Pantone colors, just send them over. If not, no problem, our design team will use the best match.

As part of your review we recommend you review the Pantone color swatches to confirm they match your designed look. Please note that colors on digital screens can vary from one screen to another.

Do you use color matches?

Our design team will always do a best match to the nearest Pantone Solid Coated color. If you know what those are, we’ll match them exactly. If not, we’ll do the best we can to match based on recommendations our design software provides.

As part of your review we recommend you review the Pantone color swatches to confirm they match your designed look. Please note that colors on digital screens can vary from one screen to another.

Do you offer design services?

Yes! As part of our services we provide a free design service. Whether you have a rough sketch, or an existing logo/design, our team will put it into a production ready design.

We can usually get things exactly how you envision it within 1-2 versions. If not, we are happy to provide revisions.

Depending on the quantity of designs you need we may request an upfront artwork deposit to cover the time used to prepare multiple designs. Rest assured, that is fully applied to your complete order when purchased.

Why is the size different from what I requested?

Sometimes the final pin design will vary slightly from the requested size due to the way measurements work in production. Pin size is based on the longest side of the design. Depending on the artwork’s proportions, the height or width may change to maintain the correct scale.

Other times our design team may recommend a size adjustment to improve legibility, clarity, or overall quality of the pin. We typically call these changes out when you are presented with your digital proof, this way you’ll know exactly what you are getting.

Your artwork will always be sized to look its best and maintain the integrity of the design.

Can gradients be used in enamel designs?

Traditional hard and soft enamel pins don’t support true gradient colors because each color area must be separated by a metal line. However, we can create gradient-like effects using UV printing. UV printing allows for gradient effects without metal lines, and can be great for very detailed designs.

If your design includes a gradient, our team will review it and recommend the best method to proceed. We’ll also show you exactly how it will look prior to placing your order.

Do you charge for artwork?

We generally provide a free artwork design for all orders. If you are looking for multiple designs we may request an initial deposit for the time needed to prepare your designs for you. That deposit will be fully applied to your final order.

Can you add text to my artwork?

Yes. Our design team can make modifications to your existing design. We’ll provide a digital proof for your review and approval before production begins.

Can I request a change after I approve my artwork?

Once an order has been paid for or production has begun we cannot modify artwork. Up until that point we are happy to make any change needed to make it just right.

Please review your digital proof carefully to ensure names, locations, and other details are spelled correctly.
